The Slants are the only all-Asian American dance rock band in the world. Their bombastic, energetic live show is “not to be missed” (Seattle Weekly). Within three years of their first show, The Slants have toured North America ten times, released three albums (winning several “album of the year awards” while at it), have become the darlings of the Asian America and anime-related press, rejected a million dollar recording contract, and played over 300 shows.
The Slants have been featured on NPR’s “All Things Considered” as well as over 1200 tv shows, radio stations, magazines,and websites. They are often featured at anime conventions and Asian cultural festivals drawing over 10,000 attendees. In addition to headlining SXSW showcases (other acts included the likes of Devo, PJ Harvey, and Kanye West), they have shared the stage with artists such as Apl.de.Ap (of the Black Eyed Peas), Sir Mix-A-Lot, Vampire Weekend, Girl Talk, and Girugamesh, Boom Boom Satellites.
